Play spaces vs trans women
i find it disturbing that the same sort of people who would claim to oppose âreducing people to their genitalsâ and to support âdiversity in sexuality and genderâ will at the same time only âallowâ trans women's sexuality to take certain forms. It would be fine if i were to use a strap-on, but i can't use my bio-cock the same way? âAccept your bodyâ, as long as it's the Right kind of body used in the Right kind of ways?

Run Results
3k: 16:48 (10th overall, 1st in my age category) - messed up in this one, had too big a breakfast too close to the race, and had awful cramps half a kilometre from the end. Had to stop and walk for 30s. About a minute slower than last year.

Stone Tape Theory and Apophenia
Stone Tape theory is a parascientific speculation that attempts to explain phenomena like ghosts and hauntings without reference to spiritual beings, such as the ghosts of the dead. Rather, it suggests that it is possible for the environment (stone or other material) to preserve impressions of past events, perhaps especially highly emotionally charged events, which can be perceived by later visitors to the site of the event. In this view, ghosts are not conscious beings, even in a reduced state, but more like a video or phonographic recording, hence the name of the theory.
The problem with Stone Tape theory is that there is absolutely no evidence for it, and no mechanisms have been proposed that are not pseudoscientific or disproven. I would like to suggest an alternative hypothesis, which also has no supporting data and is equally speculative, but possibly more plausible.

coffee, cigs, zines, tips for typing
I have a buymeacoffee page, technically (/olry), and I forgot I had all 11 issues of The Zine Around The Corner on there. I wrote it between 2020-2022, and were the "better" blog posts from a old blog. Idk what I set to charge for the zines, but theyre there. I am not seriously suggesting someone buy any, just recalling the page. I wanted to buy a copy of Monstrous Existence (a friends zine) on bmac, but A) I'm blocked, B) I'm broke. I understand the blocking thing, and I have faith she would unblock me if I requested, as we stay on good terms, but I'm still broke.

Primitive Pics
A pair of posts came across my feeds today[1] about the CampSnap camera[2]. It's a barebones digital camera. It has no screen, no fancy settings, just a picture count, a flash, and a shutter button. That reminded me of a similar concept I saw, the Paper Shoot camera, which has an even more stripped down body[3].
I do not own either; I have never used either. I have mixed thoughts about them, as a concept. I'm tired of my phone and its distractions even as I feel powerless to resist them. I understand the appeal of single function devices like this. I like the idea of something small and simple.

Converting gemini pages to ePub
Today I had a stab at converting a directory of my Gemini content to an ePub. The rudimentary results were encouraging.
This can be done with a single pandoc invocation; you just have to provide a short YAML header and a list of Markdown files.
