The Importance of Full Disclosure and Transparency Online
3 months ago we explained that prominent and well known journalists asked us to be transparent about the SLAPPs from Microsofters (paid for by Microsoft money). Their concern was, many SLAPPs go "under the radar"; people don't know they exist or aren't told what they're about.
In our case, it's important to put the information out there, not just on Microsoft's lap.
As we said before, we expect more than 1,000 more articles about the torrent of abuse we've been subjected to (culminating in SLAPPs but not limited to them) and we won't be writing about it more than once a day because there are many topics we'd rather focus on and keep abreast of, e.g. patents, IBM, social control media, Free software and so on.
But rest assured, there will be full transparency, as always. There are things we'll be covering only after the trial [1, 2] for obvious reasons. But there are things we can be upfront about.
To be clear, this message or statement isn't limited to any particular topic. We said similar things 6 years ago. Unlike Debian, we don't hide issues; we talk about them and try to revolve them. If crimes are committed, we report them as such because physical safety matters too [1, 2]. █
