Zimbabweans Aren't Into Windows or Microsoft
"Desktop" or all combined this month:
This past spring we took note of Windows falling to record lows in Zimbabwe, a country that suffers from poverty and violence - two connected or intertwined phenomena. We showed that desktop/laptop usage had fallen to almost 20%, which meant Android took over.
This month we see further shifts away from Windows and also see press reports about Russia trying to take advance of the turmoil by offering "investment" (recruiting Zimbabweans for technological work). This cannot be good news for GAFAM. Microsoft's search share fell sharply this month. █
