Bill Gates' 'Foundation' is Lobbying Vietnam's Leadership to Derail Migration to Software Freedom, Puts Money Together With Microsoft

Vietnam flag at How Lung Bay

Summary: The latest fine example of how Bill Gates is fighting against GNU/Linux adoption together with Microsoft, using the Gates Foundation as a financial vehicle which claims to be 'donating' when it's actually getting youngsters addicted to software that will harm them

MR. GATES wants everyone to believe that the Gates Foundation is independent and separate from Microsoft, but every now and then it's made abundantly clear that this is not the case. The Gates Foundation is not separate from the world's largest patent troll, either. Some people discuss this at the moment, distinguishing what they call "PR" [1, 2] from reality like the nature of Searete:

Will Gates' New Career? Patent Troll For Nathan Myhrvold?

Plenty of folks have been wondering just what Bill Gates is up to now that he's left his full-time position at Microsoft. Longtime rabble-rouser theodp has alerted us to one thing that Bill Gates is spending at least some of his time on: a bunch of patent applications for a company named "Searete LLC" -- including this one for rewarding influencers and another for a method to inject fluids into animals.

So, what's Searete? Well, it appears (warning: pdf file) that it's one of the many ultra secret shell front companies for Nathan Myhrvold's Intellectual Ventures, a company that unabashedly plans to be a huge patent tollbooth on just about any kind of innovation. We've already noted that he's been setting up shell companies as part of the operation's secrecy.

Today's main story though has something to do with Vietnam, which is moving to ODF and is constantly touting its planned migration to Free software in government within a year or two. That must all be rather scary to Microsoft, right? Well, since the Gates Foundation is the one responsible for entering school boards in the United States, why not do the same in Vietnam? Sure, it's malicious, but it would be crucial for Microsoft. Here is new proof that Bill Gates still actively works for Microsoft.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Tran Duc Lai met with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) in Ha Noi recently to discuss expanding a pilot project to improve general computer and internet skills across the country.

[...]

It is estimated to cost US$50 million, of which BMGF will sponsor $30 million and Microsoft, $3.6 million of software.

Well, it can be seen clearly how he works alongside (and for) Microsoft. They even put money together and by "computer literacy" (in the headline) they must be meaning Microsoft 'skills'. Basically, they seem to be working like a bunch of drug dealers. To quote Ashlee Vance from last week's report, "Scott McNealy, a founder of Sun Microsystems, is not shy. In the past, he’s opined on putting tracking chips between the shoulder blades of children, birth control in the McNealy household, and Microsoft’s similarities to a heroin dealer."

“So Scott McNealy pretty much calls Microsoft a "heroin dealer", at least by comparison.”So Scott McNealy pretty much calls Microsoft a "heroin dealer", at least by comparison. this guy is the founder of Sun and he must have seen how EDGI tactics were used specifically by Microsoft in order to suppress adoption of Sun products, in order to ensure that the whole next generation is a client of Microsoft. We documented all of this before. Sun sued Microsoft.

Gates' personal role in this case is noteworthy because Gates pretends to be doing benign things. All these countries which want to move huge numbers of people to freedom eventually find that the elitists from Microsoft single-handedly attack the people's liberty, pretending to be charitable by imposing their own curriculum on the young population, sometimes cornering politicians and throwing a bribe/kibckack or pretending that proprietary software really has worth, even though it costs nothing to copy. They are pretending to be charitable just to ensure that the same people (Microsoft executives) are sustaining power whilst often using cryptic language like "computer literacy" instead of "forced Microsoft indoctrination" (think of "spreading democracy" as euphemism), trying to ram Windows down students' throats. Some days ago we found Microsoft Jordan doing something similar:

TAG-Org will contribute as the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), while Microsoft will offer licenses for their software in a package including system software and other important applications for education, namely, Windows 7 Operating System, Microsoft Office 2010, Microsoft Security Essentials, and Microsoft Digital Literacy Curriculum along with Learning Essentials for Microsoft Office.

They are giving away their freedom and misusing public money. This is not a matter of private businesses alone. Previously we wrote about how Microsoft attacks GNU/Linux adoption in Turkey [1, 2, 3], especially in education (where Microsoft indoctrination of the public is also funded by the public). Watch Microsoft sucking up in last week's news:

World's leading computer software & electronics company Microsoft Corporation has selected its partner Microsoft Turkiye as the "partner country of the year".

Those 'accomplice of the year' awards are given to companies in Asia as Microsoft tries to increase its presence there. It is the same in South America, which we last wrote about some days ago.

There is also this: "Microsoft News - CGS Recognized as Microsoft U.S. Public Sector Partner of the Year in Education"

Later on we are going to show quite specifically what the Gates Foundation is doing to US education. This is supposed to be an area which is administered by the government, but Gates and Microsoft hijack it in the most outrageous way. It has become a global issue.
