Gemini version available ♊︎Quick Mention: Miguel de Icaza @ Microsoft (Updated)
The other hat
He’s there and the enthusiastic reaction in his blog shows he is very proud of it.
Just something minor to keep in mind… █
Update: a friend has just informed me of a very timely quote.
“At Microsoft I learned the truth about ActiveX and COM and I got very interested in it immediately.”
–Miguel de Icaza

The truth he has learned is probably that the COM/ActiveX source code is actually totally cross-platform (Windows and Unix builds), and it’s only proprietary by being very convulated, not straight interfaces with simple semantics.
By the way, if you have $40,000 in your bank, you can purchase the actual COM/ActiveX source code : http://www.opengroup.org/comsource/

Typo : “convulated” ==> “convoluted”.

So, Mr. Ballmer and Mr. Smith, how much will it be for TCP/IP? [sarcasm/]

He got interested in ActiveX??
The mind just boggles…
Its the single most stupid idea next to sending raw binaries through the browser.
