Android on 9 Out of 20 Web-Connected Devices for First Time Ever?
According to statCounter, Android has just topped 45%:
Android is not freedom, but Android is not Windows either and therefore Android domination is not Microsoft domination, it's just some Linux system with proprietary "apps" on top of it, mostly leveraged to spy on loads of people no matter where they go (even sleep).
We're hardly the biggest Android cheerleaders (AOSP and its trajectory, as we expected all along, was toward more lockdown). Having said that, Windows' revenue has been collapsing for years (at alarming rates) and the "market share" of Microsoft... likewise.
It is only within that context that we cheer the demise of Windows, even if that means Android gains though ultimately the goal/destination isn't Android.
Freedom means something very different from Android. It's not about price, it's about freedom. █
