Erosion of Free Speech in British Society

I don't typically write about political issues here. But this won't be about politics. It's about how the Free software anti-community (corporate operatives) burns virtual effigies of people for merely using a term like "business or pleasure" (which used to be perfectly normal and polite, nothing sexual). Posters like the above go back many years, lasting even longer than Prof. Moglen and Dr. Stallman [1, 2, 3, 4].

As noted earlier this year, people who attack this site are openly and shamelessly opposing Free Speech, even speech that is perfectly factual. They try to deplatform 20-year-old GNU/Linux sites. Under normal circumstances it would be assumed due to envy, but given recent events it seems more like a coordinated campaign of libel, harassment, and worse.

Journalism fundamentally relies on being able to relay facts, no matter how inconvenient they may be to powerful interests (both businesses and people). Without free press we have an uninformed society, which in turn begets bad politics and collective suffering.
