Free Software Foundation Has a New Recruit, Anouk Rozestraten
THIS morning we checked the site of the Free Software Foundation (FSF) and noticed that a new person had been added to the "Staff and Board" page. It's another Dutch lady acting as Deputy Director with/under Zoë Kooyman. To quote:
Anouk joined the Free Software Foundation (FSF) as a contractor back in 2022 to support the foundation in various accounting and operational duties. After learning the inner workings of the foundation, she transitioned to the role of Deputy Director in mid-2023. In her new role, she's responsible for the day to day operations of the foundation and managing the Boston office.Prior to her move to the USA in 2022, Anouk worked as a care coordinator for a Dutch specialized care provider. She was responsible for a group of young adults with mental health challenges, designing tailored care plans to help increase their independence, personal growth, and participation in society.
Anouk holds both a Bachelors and a Masters of Science in Education and Child Studies from Leiden University, Netherlands, specializing in clinical child and adolescent studies.
Having said that, the FSF also lost some people (Andrew Engelbrecht and Devin Ulibarri). We only recently learned why the FSF no longer mentions public talks of its founder.
There are now 5 women and 5 men listed as "Staff" at the FSF's Web site. For comparison's sake, IBM's Board is 10 men and 3 women. Among those 10 men 8 are old white guys (screenshot below). Wow, what a diversity achievement! IBM/Red Hat had the audacity to attack the FSF on reasons/pretexts like "diversity". Need we even elaborate about Red Hat staff attacking women and posing with them like they're trophies? This attitude can be inherited from the Watsons.
