Why Microsoft is Grieving Deep Inside
LAST week's Microsoft layoffs were vast. We're talking about thousands of workers.
What is the future of Microsoft? Azure has mass layoffs (again, for 5 years in a row now!), Bing has many layoffs, and then there's the latest hype which is Ponzi-style suicide.
Bing did not gain since the HEY HI ("AI") hype, it only lost a lot of money a lot faster. GitHub is down (competition exists and grows):
Many layoffs in GitHub last year, several waves and even office shutdowns. There's no way for them to make money or swing into profit.
Same for microsoft.com (however inaccurate those measurements may be, Alexa.com's main functionality is dead now):
That same assessor says that OpenAI.com traffic plunged 60% in June. So Microsoft will come up with a new pseudo "AI" twist, calling mass surveillance of desktops (building a large repository of unredacted screenshots) "AI" or something "Pro" and "Plus" and "Ultra" and "Copilot" or whatever buzzword fits today's marketing message (they constantly rebrand due to repeated failures and resultant bad press).
Microsoft has no clear roadmap other than hype campaigns in Microsoft-sponsored sites. █
