IBM: Cheapening Code, Cheapening Staff, Cheapening Everything
4 hours ago by Dexter Tilo at HRD America:

It ends with: "Crucially, IBM stresses that this does not mean humans can step away. IBM's analysis of vibe coding underscores that while AI can accelerate prototyping and reduce manual effort, it also introduces technical complexity, maintenance and updates challenges, and especially security concerns when AI-generated artifactsare not subject to normal oversight."

Cheapening everything except the bonus of IBM's CEO
Cheapening is the word of the year at IBM, except IBM will not use this word. It'll say stuff like "efficiency" and "AI" (by which it means slop, not actually AI). McDonald's [1, 2] tried cheapening/annulling staff with IBM and chatbots/voice recognition (IBM already developed that 30+ years ago, it's nothing novel); it didn't work. At the end they realised that any perceived "cost-savings" were offset by the loss of customers.
Cheapening at IBM sometimes mean getting rid of experienced (read: "expensive") people, hoping that a larger quantity of lesser-paid people will work as much or produce comparable outcomes. Cheapening the production of code is the next frontier of IBM letdowns.
IBM's management runs IBM like it's a local branch of McDonald's. IBM is a junk company with morbid innards. █
