IBM/Red Hat Racism and Imperialism: Not a New Problem
Especially in that region
Fedora Week of Diversity (FWD) was reputation laundering nonsense that almost nobody at Red Hat cared about. IBM is desperate to change feelings and perceptions because of ongoing racism/nationalism, not to mention serious lawsuits over discrimination.
That's all fairly recent. "Remarkably Little Had Changed."
Going further back in time, consider IBM's war profits from the Cuban missile crisis (or Cold War in general). IBM and "Regime Change" is hardly a new theme and Red Hat boasted about it (in relation to Haiti, where Microsoft has been almost erased).
In Jamaica, to the south, IBM did some practice or 'test run' for eugenics before taking on the German Nazi Party as a big client for genocide.
IBM does not want people to talk about this. Because it is embarrassing and corrosive to the precious brand. █
