Thorny Issues, Violent Response
THE 3,000th article/page was added earlier this week, as we started a new count back in September after we had left WordPress behind (with close to 40,000 posts since 2006). Quantity does not matter though; what matters is the impact, which correlates with overall quality.
We nowadays hear from very high-profile people and famous sources, whom we cannot name. They read this site and they appreciate the information shared here. For instance, we now understand why the FSF does not share information about its founder's (Dr. Stallman) public talks and we also know what leads to a cull of pro-Stallman videos in YouTube.
In the coming months we plan to write more about the so-called 'cancel culture' or 'cancel mob' (or the 'cancer culture' which targets a cancer patient in his 70s). It's not a pretty situation, as the attackers are not gentlemen. They're mostly crybullies, serial defamers, and shameless liars with hormonal imbalance and mental breakdown issues, set aside envy.
This site has given a voice to many suppressed views/facts. It also illuminates many scandals that no other site even touches (EPO scandals are only rarely mentioned elsewhere; we covered that on the day it came out!).
History teaches us that those who uttered difficult truths - or spoke "truth to power" - faced firing squads (or worse) - all this for the 'crime' of writing - and next week we'll probably know the fate of Julian Assange, as early as Monday unless there are further delays/deferrals.
A lot of people around the world continue to underestimate the risks and costs endured to merely shine light on certain issues. They say protests (or strikes) that do not disrupt anything are simply not effective. The same can be said about reporting. █
