Promoting Microsoft Windows With LLM Slop
Context: BetaNews' Managing Editor Wayne William Took Charge of GNU/Linux Articles and His Articles Are Real (He Actually Wrote Them) (4 days ago: "Oreon 10, our favorite Windows replacement, has just been updated -- and it's about to get much, much better!")
SOME days ago BetaNews' Managing Editor Wayne Williams wrote an article about Oreon 10 and we said that he "Took Charge of GNU/Linux Articles and His Articles Are Real (He Actually Wrote Them)" (link above). 4 hours ago Brian Fagioli wrote something about Oreon 10 and the first 6 paragraphs are deemed LLM slop (we didn't check further).
Notice how only hours earlier he was shilling WSL, which is how Microsoft attacks GNU/Linux.
But the issue isn't Windows (WSL) shilling, it's the pattern of publishing fake 'articles' about GNU/Linux.
Some GNU/Linux journalists who spoke to us said they hated Fagioli with a passion, perceiving him to be a BS artist.
What is the policy at BetaNews regarding LLM slop? █
Update: The Fagioli 'article' has been deleted (not the first time). Was it withdrawn by the editor or by Fagioli himself?
