António Campinos: President or Quasi-Autocratic Corporate Puppet?

'Soft power'

On my first day they showed me my masters. Then my imperial masters. And the corporate masters (2 days on the job).

Summary: The culture of oppression -- and censorship of evidence of oppression -- is what today's EPO is all about; the EPO learned how to better avoid (or block) negative publicity without actually changing its ways; and due to unprecedented speech restrictions you won't hear that from SUEPO

MR. António Campinos came to the European Patent Office (EPO) 2 years and 1 week ago. We've already remarked and commented (at the time) on his first moves, which clearly proved he was just another Benoît Battistelli, pushing for the UPC on the very first week in Office and defending software patents in Europe. Because... who cares about the law anyway?

"He prevents all his staff from accessing information."Mr. Campinos was no 'change agent' but a mask; nothing has really changed, except the media's silence. Like we said yesterday, SUEPO recently changed its homepage to bemoan censorship; it feels repressed and silenced. It's still besieged and gagged. Mr. Campinos fights for the very people his father claimed to have fought. But to portray Mr. Campinos as a misguided and passive agent of somebody else is also unfair. Mr. Campinos knows very well what he's doing. Don't be fooled by the fake smile and the dishonest words. In fact, remember that for over 2 years now he has been blocking Techrights. He prevents all his staff from accessing information. Only promotional puff pieces are permitted. Ask SUEPO. Here's the front page:

SUEPO censorship

That really says it all; yes, really...

All signs indicate that Microsoft wants to "exit" the XBox business (not brand), but it does not want to publicly admit this as it would alarm staff and shareholders
