Summary: The decrease in patent compliance and the appointment of improper management figures means that today's EPO is just a rubber-stamping operation (it gets far worse very rapidly); we take stock of two days' posts in the current EPO series (we also have 2 series about Microsoft running in parallel)

IN Part 7 and Part 8 (published yesterday morning and this morning, respectively) we looked at recent (months old; it all happened about 3 months ago) changes at the Cxx level/tier of the EPO.

"Today's EPO is run by lobbyists."Benoît Battistelli and António Campinos are both putting incompetnent or unsuitably-competent people in positions of power, with the alleged aim of promoting European software patents (we'll show EPO leaks to that effect later this week).

The EPO is going in a terrible direction. Like the Linux Foundation, which is mentioned in the above video for analogy's sake, the EPO is no longer pursing its original goals. Today's EPO is run by lobbyists. ⬆
