[Meme] Etihad/UAE/Manchester City Outsourcing Everything to Microsoft
THIS is an informed rant about a football club I cared for (it has been taken over by rather radical oil tycoons). When it comes to so-called 'IT', it is a total disaster. Their systems aren't reliable either (many downtimes; I saw that firsthand).
As per these recent posts about their so-called 'IT' [1, 2], despite Manchester City being ranked first in the world (UEFA rankings), it gets an "F" for 'IT', including security. It also sucks when it comes to privacy. I had to resort to approaching (thus feeding) scalpers to purchase tickets anonymously, even if that means being among "away" fans. Manchester City demands the name (and address, phone number etc.) of every person in the stadium and then sends this data to Microsoft in the United States. Does the NSA needs to have attendance lists of each game (match) in another continent?
