Clickfraud Spamnil Ran Out of Clickfraud Budget, Apparently
Context: New Lows: Linux Foundation Defrauding Clients
We saw even worse.
WE ought not dwell too much (or too often) on the Linux Foundation-connected Clickfraud Spamnil (because it's probably not worth the time of day), but we recently noticed - and this subject kept returning to IRC chats - that Clickfraud Spamnil seemingly stopped buying fake clicks to boost his alleged "importance", in effect boosting numbers about twenty-fold with 'unorganic' (read: spam) activity. Looking closely at the data, it seems like videos from April 1st were the last ones to be click-spammed. We can see month-old videos with fewer "views" than days (age), so why would guests even bother or allocate time to participate in this nonsense?
Anyway, sooner or later charlatans and frauds run out of steam. Who supports/defends them? Microsofters of course. For instance, Matthew J Garrett of 'secure' boot infamy kept defending the spammy person, Spamnil, in our IRC channels. Apparently he does not believe it's essential to call out charlatans and frauds. █
