THE Mono project is about spreading .NET, not spreading GNU/Linux. The guy behind Mono, Microsoft's MVP Miguel de Icaza, shares what he calls "A Mono Success Story of Biblical Proportions" because it involves the bible. Well, based on the original message, GNU/Linux is excluded. What type of success story is that? It's just more and more proprietary software. What happened to the promise of cross-platform .NET? And now that Novell circles celebrate the release of Mono 2.8 (with Microsoft code in it), what kind of triumph is that really? Thankfully, Canonical removed F-spot from last week's release of Ubuntu (F-spot is Mono based), so tutorials like this new one from Jack Wallen are likely to become extinct, much like Mono itself.

Mono people will never admit this, but their project is floundering. Java got extra support from IBM and de Icaza tries spinning it against Java. ⬆
