Life seems to like only big twists
Hi folks. I've been a bit quiet due to the change in rhythm coming from the summer. It's kinda hard to find a moment of rest when everything is time for it, somehow.
~bartender, let's go for a plain espresso this time. Short, no sugar. Thank you.
The only constant rhythm in my life is the slow sipping of a good coffee.

confirmation of dissatisfaction: it's not worth it
So many times, I've tried and tried again - to want, to like, to actually have a reason to *have* a reason to be in this world. A search which was never implied, a search that never needed an answer for.
Birth (is): hi, how are you, you're on Earth now. :stares blankly back (at me):
(*what* is staring - to be not known)
A father of dyslexic background, severe learning capabilities, a mother of malignant narcicissm, crass behavior towards others - descriptors of those. That is, whose who got me here.

project oriented doggo
different topic: spirituality seems to be shifting towards ancestor stuff. it does so anyway around autumn, but i think with all my elders gone, it's going to be a big theme and need, keeping up with that. having that as my Broader Context. i can still do what i do, just add an ancestral angle to it. what i really wish is to have enough room for an ancestral shrine. like.. a gallery wall with all the photos or something. i could definitely try to work out a digital version to have on my desktop! and there's the long term project of learning flemish (dutch for now) to be able to talk to the Local Elders.

Broken Phone
The Fairphone is a bit more expensive than what I would want to spend on a phone, so let's hope it lasts me a long time.

Broken Phone
My phone died last week. It got stuck in a boot loop and there was no way to get it to talk to a PC via USB. I tried draining its battery a couple of time and it didn't really help, so I bit the bullet and bought a Fairphone. The Fairphone is a bit more expensive than what I would want to spend on a phone, so let's hope it lasts me a long time.

Technical writing is too complex
I maintain a documentation site at my place of work. Since I started writing it, we've added a lot of different tools and markup to facilitate adding bits and pieces in to the writing itself. Callouts, fancy tables, tabbed code snippets... you name it, we've got it. Since we write in MDX we can build an interface into our component library to populate it with content. Sounds good in theory, but in practice I believe it's making the documentation messier.
For my personal site, I write using Gemini markup ("Gemtext"). You can think of it as being like a very, very basic version of Markdown. The specification handles headers, single-level unordered lists, blockquotes, links (on their own line), and preformatted text blocks. That's it. You can read the full specification in about a minute.

gemini.koplugin 0.3.1
A little news on my Gemini client plugin for KOReader. I submitted it for inclusion in the main distribution. The maintainers were friendly, but weren't convinced that its utility for typical users would justify the maintenance and translation burden. A shame, but fair enough.
