EPO People Power - Part I - Identifying Corruption
European Patent Office (EPO) officials are corrupt people enabled and emboldened by other corrupt people, usually personal friends of theirs rather than people qualified for the job at hand. Abuses and corruption became the norm at the Office; examiners and other "ordinary" staff call those officials "the Mafia". It works really hard to silence critics and people in the press tell us there are still EPO and EUIPO SLAPPs. Basically, Mafia gonna act like Mafia... (implicating the EU, too)
We have entered "the New Dark Age" and yesterday we saw this new report mentioned in the Web site thedissenter.org (known for its coverage of Wikileaks affairs): Report Calls Attention To Capitalism's Destruction Of The Press And Media System
"Dear Mr Schestowitz," said a reader last month. "First of all, I admire all the work you've put in as an independent journalist covering the "Cocainegate" affair at the EPO.
"I think you‘re the only media outlet that can have a positive impact on the current EPO regime. That's why I am reaching out to you. As you might have noticed, I am using a temporary email address to protect my identity."
That would be far from the first time. The EPO cannot tell who's who and it certainly lost track off who does leaking, which leaking etc.
The EPO, at this stage, is a boat full of holes. There's a lot of leaking everywhere, and everything can be leaked at any time. This boat is sinking.
"You might be asking yourself how a trained lawyer could be so dumb to risk his reputation," said the reader, "let alone his admission and years of hard work by smuggling cocaine into the Oktoberfest - a venue where everyone knows you get physically checked as soon as you enter it, where you have loads of police presence both in uniform and undercover, and where there is even a dedicated police station inside the area. It can only be explained with arrogance or addiction, most probably both."
At the EPO, going well over a decade back, we showed how Benoît Battistelli was openly gloating that he was effectively about the law and the Administrative Council would do virtually anything he asks for (he could even bribe members of Administrative Council and António Campinos took these bribes further).
As we said earlier today, by all means contact the members who represent your country (if you live in Europe). They're about to start the meeting and we're seeing suspicious activity on our site this morning, maybe even DDoS (we've blocked some offending addresses as preliminary mitigation). █
