Slopwatch: Microsoft Slop, Anti-Linux Slop, and IBM Marketing Itself as a Slop Company

posted by Roy Schestowitz on May 06, 2025

IF readers are interested in keeping abreast of or need examples (as recent as this week) of LLM slop/slopfarms, look no further than Slopwatch. We focus on the worst offenders that target "Linux" in particular, so let's start with the Serial Slopper Fagioli, spewing out word salads for Microsoft (probably by Microsoft too) including promotion of Microsoft Windows under the "Linux" brand:

Brian Fagioli

Lots of chaff like this lately. Microsoft is desperate to ensure not many people will explore the real thing (because many already do).

Being an uncaring (and not creative) cheater, readers can already imagine those are not real articles:

The Fedora team isn’t done either. Work is already underway to improve Flatpak support and add hardware-accelerated graphics for GUI applications running in WSL. That’s going to matter a lot for users who want a richer desktop experience inside Windows.

So it's probably just a Microsoft-controlled LLM [1, 2] spewing out garbage about "Linux" (but it promotes staying with Windows).

In other domains or universes, as usual, it does not seem like Google News delisted the slopfarm gbhackers. It really needs to get rid of that fake site and do the same to all the others (where all the 'articles' are fakes or plagiarism done poorly with LLMs).

New ClickFix Attack Imitates Ministry of Defence Website to Target Windows and Linux Systems

Fake. LLM slop.

Google News did not delist it after all these months upon months of spewing out nothing but slop. Its slop-made FUD is still there all over the site; all the images are slop too; also its sister slopfarm (they're operated in tandem), CybersecurityNews:

New ClickFix Attack Mimics Ministry of Defense Website to Attack Windows

Google has gotten really terrible. As for Google News, it's increasing a pile of garbage

Look for news about IBM today and get all this nonsense about slop (some of these are slopfarms!):

IBM CEO: Customers Doubling Down on AI to Save Money

This is the latest chaff or fake news from IBM. Recall: IBM's CEO Has Become a Stochastic Buzzword-Generating Machine

The world isn't getting better and information about the world is definitely becoming less reliable.
