Not for a company that probably has 95% of its customer base running Windows on the desktop and have windows servers in their data centers. Unfortunately(or fortunately, depending on your point of view of course), the reality is most “enterprise” level shops have to deal with Windows and many are mixed shops.

So all that money and bad-mojo they got for the microsoft deal … and their `headline’ `interoperability’ point is probably the use of a third party’s free software tool which was nothing to do with it (and explicitly licensed to be excluded from it).
There’s definitely a little bit of `fail’, in that.
Ian – yes, and they’ve had to deal with it for a very long time, it isn’t a new thing. And in fact that is how ‘linux’ became to be used in many companies in the first place. Running Samba. Nothing to do with any patent deal or proprietary `value add’ software.

@ Mike: All I was responding to was Ian’s comment of what’s the fail tag for. If it has to do with Microsoft it’s bad. It doesn’t matter if Novell’s customers needed or wanted something like this. It has to do with two evil companies that are out to destroy Linux.
You don’t know what software they used to make the newsletter so pointing to that doesn’t make sense and does it matter?
Where I usually have an issue with Roy is the site is boycottnovell. Usually in a boycott you want the company to change. This is not Roy’s point any longer. Roy has stated in the IRC that the only solution now for Novell and Microsoft to fail. He no longer is boycotting, he’s wishing for a death knell for two companies with thousands of worldwide employees.

You hecklers have zero sense of humor. Novell’s newsletter promoting M$ before everything else is funny.
It’s a shame that Novell has spent it’s time making the Windows cesspool more bearable instead of promoting the free alternatives. This is a business model that failed in the 90s. It’s no coincidence then that Novell’s stock price tanked in 1993 and has never really recovered. M$ defeated its servant and now uses them for more trouble. The closer you are to M$, the faster you fail.
