They have a good partnership going. Along with the missing amigo (Jobs), they will rule the client/server OS world. Isn’t that what they call coopetition?
Don’t work to grow Linux, rather work to put the rest of commercial Linux (and other FOSS-related Monopolysoft obstacles) out of business so as to have King Ballmer give you control over that little tiny duchy.
Freeze market share and the competition (but pretend there is still a little competition).

Microsoft’s deal with Novell is very similar to the company’s deal with Apple over a decade ago. “Shared monopoly” sums it up properly.
