Quote of the Day: Apple and Microsoft
“We have to let go of the notion that for Apple to win, Microsoft has to lose.”
–Steve Jobs
[relevant to Apple's recent help to Microsoft's monopoly, parent ventures, and fight against software freedom]

Wow. What a profoundly disturbing statement, depending on the interpretation.
If it is praise or tolerance of M$, it shows that Steve has lost touch or that M$ really has him personally or Apple or both over a barrel. If M$ has Apple / Steve Jobs cornered that could explain the effort that Apple representatives appear to be making to push customers away from standards or non-M$ solutions.
Or it could be an excessively diplomatic way of reminding us that M$ has set its business so that for anyone to win, M$ must lose.

This comment is from when Jobs came back to Apple, Microsoft invested 150M in Apple stock and promised to keep the Office for Mac product line.
It’s not really surprising
