Quick Mention: Our Trolls Might be Fewer Than It Seems
It is pretty safe to say that Novell and its partners have a growing habit of going around the Web and patrolling blogs, maybe even using ‘commenting brigade’. Novell is working on its public image. It’s the nature of protecting one’s own job and ecosystem. In some cases, E-mails are sent directly to the writers rather than address writers in the comments.
One new thing that I was able to find just moments ago is that sockpuppet techniques might be used as well. It is a situation where one person uses multiple identities. We have already caught such incidents before, but here is a recent example.
It might be a frequent occurrence, but we rarely look at IP addresses and other such details, unless a particular activity becomes too suspicious.

Great catch – NOT! 217.226. is from the IP pool of Germany’s biggest Internet provider.

You may be right, but prior incidents include cases where all IP addresses were identical.
As I’ve stated stated, we rarely ever check this (I could count on one hand the number of times I’ve checked such a things in the past year, i.e. since inception).

Gawd, you simply cannot believe that people don’t agree with the utter, slanderous and ill-researched shit you guys write?
Well, let me tell you that I’m a student, but I wonder what you are.
You write so much (never mind the quality of what you’re writing) that you either have _no life_ and no girlfriend or you must be doing it during your working hours. Which brings me to the question: Is somebody paying _you_ to write this blog?

At least it is well-known that the Enquirer is not to be believed. It’s important to point out to readers of this blog that they cannot trust what you write here.

Be specific if something that we say it incorrect. Unlike the Inquirer, we don’t announced that “Dell dumped Linux (in the UK)” because some forum thread somewhere on the Web had some anonymous chump thinking so.

If you find inaccuracies, feel free to suggest a correction (yet, we post corrections too). If you say nothing, you can’t make vague and general claims about overall inaccuracy.

“you can’t make vague and general claims”
You should print out that sentence of yours and cast a good, long look at it every time you feel the urge to write a blog entry.
