Quick Mention: Microsoft Lackey Lands in ODF Community List
WHAT does the ODF-bashing, Microsoft-boosting Jesper Lund Stocholm [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9] do in the ODF mailing lists all of the sudden?
There are reasons to be apprehensive because Jesper Lund Stocholm serves Microsoft’s interests and Microsoft wants greater control of ODF [1, 2].
The reader who brought this to our attention wrote, “I’m thinking [...] his presence must be indicative of a new political or marketing initiative: things seem to have let up significantly on other forums and that has always been a sign that they are regrouping.” █
“It’s a Simple Matter of [Microsoft’s] Commercial Interests!“

Hi Roy,
Thank you for the kind post – it is always nice to be noticed and appreciated.
:o)
And you (or your sources) are correct – my contribution to ODF has gotten a bit bigger these last couple of weeks. It has several times been suggested to me that I should join ODF TC (hence the increased contributions), but I am still thinking about doing it or not.
(and no, not a single one of thse suggestions have come from MSFT)
The link to you provided to my post was not to the ODF mail list. It was to the “opendocument-users” mail list. For recent contributions to the ODF-comment mail list, see e.g. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/office-comment/200902/msg00003.html
Have a nice day,

I can see you promoting OOXML in Rob Weir’s blog this week.

Hi Roy,
I was not promoting OOXML. I was simply telling him that the idea of an “Document -> code”-generator was a great idea and that it was – to some extend – implemented in the latest OpenXml SDK CTP.
However, since the tool is not likely to be released as OSS, the benefit of this specific tool in the SDK is not going to be that big.
(btw, I think the OpenXmlSDK sucks big time – but that is a whole other story)
Have a nice day, Roy

Your history on this subject is well documented though. No degree of what Microsoft calls “schmoozing” can hide this.

Hi Roy,
About my “history”, yes, I saw your little list of posts. Nice one.
