Carol Bartz: Her Job is Done

Posted in Microsoft, Ron Hovsepian at 7:45 am by Dr. Roy Schestowitz

Bartz recruited to attack Google, Elop installed to bury MeeGo and sue Android with patents, Hovsepian used to attack Red Hat

Summary: Bartz is out, but she was a temporary pawn all along

A couple of years ago Bartz [1, 2] and Ballmer posed for the cameras in the same way Elop and Ballmer did half a year ago and Hovsepian and Ballmer did in 2006. All those handshakes were the formal handover of car keys to Ballmer. Hovsepian was emitted from his chair a few months ago, Elop plans to leave next year (according to several sources), and Bartz has just been fired (after many former Microsoft executives had been installed inside Yahoo!). It is not as bad as it sounds. Their goal was accomplished as the companies they pretended to be CEOs of were put in the hands of Microsoft.

What does that teach us about deals with Microsoft? We have a special wiki page about it. Microsoft is very manipulative and this destroys good companies that once provided more choices to the market. Without choice, the monopoly or duopoly of Microsoft and Apple is under no pressure to actually innovate. They can also take away people’s technological rights, making antifeatures the ‘standard’. Techrights strives to expose this sheer anti-competitive abuse.

“Without choice, the monopoly or duopoly of Microsoft and Apple is under no pressure to actually innovate.”

Apple is considered one of the most innovative companies of the last 20 years.

Your FUD does not match the facts.

    twitter Reply:

Can you name a single innovation that Apple made rather than borrowed from another company and popularized while excluding competitors with lawsuits?

    Michael Reply:

You mean other than completely turning around the following markets: desktop computing, music players, smart phones, tablets, music industry, handset maker’s relation to phone carriers, etc.?

Or are you just blindly discounting those?

    twitter Reply:

I did not think you could name a single technical feature.

    Agent_Smith Reply:

    Yeah, right: GUI – Xerox, The tablet ??? – Stanley Kubrick’s 2001. iPhone ? – Samsung’s F700. Safari ? – KDE Konqueror KHTML.
And, of course, their CEO’s statement: “We have always been shameless about stealing great ideas. …”
So, it’s crystal clear who’s not the innovator here.

    Michael Reply:

Thank you both for proving my point. While people who understand the tech industry could talk intelligently about how Apple affected those markets, you two have just shown you cannot.

Oh, and with the comment from Jobs, Roy took that completely out of context. See here for details: http://techrights.org/2011/09/08/apple-imports-at-risk/

    Michael Reply:

    Whoops. See here: http://trw.gallopinginsanity.com/2011/09/08/apple

    twitter Reply:

I’m still waiting for you to name a single feature Apple came up with.

    Michael Reply:

Well, there is no doubt that Macs can be a bit expensive, but if you save up you should not have to wait long. Get a Mac and you will not have to wait for those features.

Or you can use Linux and hope they someday make it there.

OK… being a bit silly there – my point is you cannot think of any of these Apple innovations… where people who know the tech industry can. Easily. Here, if you really need help and are not just trolling:

Really… it is not like this is hard to find information on this if you *really* do not know of it. And welcome to the tech industry.

    twitter Reply:

Like I said, you can’t name one.

    Michael Reply:

Gee, I noted that Roy and his minion cannot… and you work to “prove me wrong” by noting I am not helping you.

Keep in mind: *anyone* familiar with the tech industry can. The fact you, twitter, cannot shows you are not familiar with the tech industry.

For the record: I can and have in public forums. Are you telling me you are the same but are just not willing to now?

Oh, yeah, right, The Apple Gazette citing Apple innovations… Much like Seattle Digest praising Micro$haft… Good for laughs. \(^-^)/

    Michael Reply:

Who said anything about the Gazette? Pick from many, many sources.

The fact is that people who are familiar with the tech industry are familiar with the innovations Apple has brought to the public. It is, in fact, a decent test to see if people are familiar with the the tech industry, given how many areas Apple has been influential in.

But it seems Roy and his fans are not able to show such understanding. It is interesting and quite telling. There is such a strong anti-MS and anti-Apple bias on this site that common knowledge is just ignored or denied – with *nothing* to back up the denials. Nothing.

I am not saying this shows this site is tried to a cult, but it is very cult-like in that way.
